New 6-Pack Cans Now At Blue Stallion Brewing

It’s been a while, but cans are finally back! Starting Friday, January 24, 2020, you can pick up some of your favorite Blue Stallion brews in 6 pack cans at the taproom. 6-packs are $11.

BSB Favorites

We were able to can three of your favorite BSB beers this time around, including: Dunkel, Lexington Lager, and Ya Damn Skippy.

Dunkel – Our flagship beer since we started back in 2013. This malty dark lager is the quintessential German bier. Our take on the style has won several awards, including a gold medal and “Best in Category” at the 2018 Dublin Craft Beer Cup. It’s the perfect blend of malty-sweetness that keeps you coming back for more.

Lexington Lager – This new American-style lager hit taps around the Bluegrass with gusto just a short time ago. It’s the craft beer that compliments any meal or any social occasion.

Ya Damn Skippy T-ShirtYa Damn Skippy – A customer favorite since it first went on tap, this peanut butter porter is decadent without being sweet or overpowering. The peanut flavor compliments the roasty-ness of the base porter perfectly. We’re also selling limited addition Ya Damn Skippy shirts in the taproom for $25 starting on 1/24/2020.

Blue Stallion cans will release in stores in Lexington and Louisville in early February, including Liquor Barns, Total Wines, and few select local shops. If there’s someplace you want to see our 6-packs distributed please let them know, and also reach out to us.

Ya Damn Skippy & Justa P’haze Limited Can Release

We’re happy to announce our next limited release canning run! In addition to Dunkel and Helles, we’re also adding Ya Damn Skippy (peanut butter porter) and Justa P’Haze (New England-style IPA) to the mix. Now you can bring your favorite Blue Stallion beers with you anywhere! 6-packs will be available in the taproom on Friday, August 10, 2018. Dunkel and Helles will be available at your favorite local retailers about a week after that. Ya Damn Skippy and Justa P’Haze will only be available in the taproom.

If you’ve been drinking our beers for any length of time, then you’re probably already familiar with two of our flagships, Dunkel (a dark malty German-style lager) and Helles (a crisp refreshing golden German-style lager). Some of you may not have tried a few of our newer beers, so here’s a refresher.

Ya Damn Skippy is a robust porter with peanut butter coming in at 5% ABV. Using a porter as a base for the peanut butter gives you a beer that’s roasty and meshes terrifically with the peanut butter flavors, but doesn’t have a heavy or overly-sweet mouthfeel like a stout.

Justa P’Haze is our New England-style IPA coming in at a hazy 6.8% ABV. Made with Ekaunot, Mosaic, and Citra hops, this juicy IPA is sure to satisfy your thirst for haze. We’re canning it the day before it goes on sale to ensure it’s as fresh as possible.

Check out the Facebook event for information on the can release and sign up for our newsletter to find out about special events like this before anyone else!

Blue Stallion releases first beer in cans!

It’s been a long time coming. The day is finally here: You can get your own Blue Stallion beer in cans! We canned a limited run of both Dunkel and Helles recently. To celebrate the event, starting Thursday, May 24th, you can purchase 6-packs of both beers at the Blue Stallion taproom for $9 each all through Memorial Day weekend. The price will sneak up a bit after Memorial Day.

Our first canning was done with a mobile canning line, so we consider this to be a limited release for both Dunkel and Helles. We’ll have 6-packs of both beers for sale in the taproom until they’re gone. We also sent out some pallets of Dunkel cans to our distributor in the Central Kentucky area. As soon as we’re aware what store shelves they’ll be on, we’ll let you know!

We’ll send out announcements about future canning runs and a move to more permanent production. Prost!

Check out the Facebook event for more details on the Memorial Day weekend can release.

Dad’s Favorites Deli Coming to Blue Stallion Taproom

We’ve been dropping hints for a few weeks, and it’s time to make it official! Blue Stallion Brewing is partnering with local Lexington restaurant, Dad’s Favorites Deli, to bring delicious food to the taproom. Dad’s will serve both lunch and dinner from 11am to 9pm Monday through Saturday. The official grand opening event is Monday, January 23, 2017.

We’ve always been huge fans of the food at Dad’s Favorites, so when the possibility of having them serve in the taproom came up, we jumped at the chance! Their specialty sandwiches, homemade soups, and cheese spreads are a great pairing with our lineup of Blue Stallion beers. Having a consistent lunch (and dinner) option every day is also something we’re very excited to offer our customers.

In addition to normal daily specials, Dad’s will also offer several items made especially for the brewery. Those special items include The Real Kraut Pleaser, a roast beef sandwich on pretzel bun with spicy beer cheese made using the award winning Blue Stallion Smoked Lager as well as Sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard both made using Blue Stallion German-style Pilsner. The menu also includes pretzels and spicy beer cheese made with Smoked Lager as well as a new shareable dish of nachos.

Food trucks will still make appearances at the brewery. For instance, Rico’s Empanadas is scheduled to serve all day on Sundays starting at noon for the next several weeks. Other special events will also see food trucks serving their delicious fare, like The Gastro Gnomes holding another crawfish boil for Mardi Gras on February 28th.

Like our page on Facebook for information on the grand opening event.

  2. Müther Bräin – Old Ale aged in PVW bourbon barrels for a year, 10.5% ABV

The event will take place during Lexington Craft Beer Week on Friday, May 20th at noon. We’ll set up the bottle sale at the back of the brewery through our rear garage door.  Gännuhn and Müther Bräin will be $15 per bottle with Bäuwzer and Tysün costing $13.50 per bottle. There will be a dedicated table just for the bottle sale to keep wait times to a minimum. We have a very limited number of each beer available, so we have to limit each person to 2 bottles of each beer style.

For those looking for the tap experience, the draft release of Gännuhn and Müther Bräin is Saturday, May 21st. Be sure to check out all our other Lexington Craft Beer Week events!
